Lender Repayment Agreements

Protecting Your Financial Interests

Considering the frightening amount of Florida foreclosure lawsuits filed these days, it is tempting to trust that your lender will develop a repayment agreement plan that will suit your needs. Unfortunately, your lender does not have your best interests in mind.

My name is Jeffrey A. Klein. At the Law Office of Jeffrey A. Klein in Daytona Beach, Florida, I provide foreclosure defense to distressed homeowners in Volusia County and throughout central Florida.

If you are facing foreclosure or are having trouble making your mortgage payments, hiring a skilled attorney to negotiate with your lender on your behalf is a smart move. Call my office locally at 386-492-9952 or toll free at 866-819-6032 to discuss your case.

Problems With Lender Repayment Agreement Plans

Much like President Obama's Making Home Affordable Modification Program, some lenders are offering their own repayment agreement plans. These agreements, however, often have several disadvantages, including:

  • The lender requests new monthly payments for a specified trial period
  • There is no guarantee the lender will continue the new terms once the trial period is over
  • The monthly payments may not be significantly smaller than the original ones
  • Many of the plans involve a ridiculous balloon payment due within three or four months which few homeowners can afford

If you are facing foreclosure or are having trouble making your monthly mortgage payments, don't trust a lender repayment agreement to solve your problems. Hire a knowledgeable attorney to aggressively fight to save your home and represent you during negotiations with your lender.

Trusted Foreclosure Defense

A knowledgeable foreclosure defense lawyer will:

  • Aggressively respond to the foreclosure lawsuit
  • Communicate with your lender to try to reach a suitable loan modification agreement
  • Negotiate a short sale or deed in lieu of foreclosure, if appropriate
